Purpose
ShowMeYourWatch exists to cut through the noise.
There are thousands of watches out there—but only a fraction are truly worth your attention, let alone your money.
The objective here is fourfold:
- Centralise useful, practical information on watches genuinely worth considering
- Help you understand what to look for—and what to avoid before making a purchase
- Create a platform for enthusiasts to share opinions, experiences, and collections
- Extend the conversation via YouTube, where I review real watch collections submitted by enthusiasts like you
In short: fewer regrets, better watches, smarter decisions.
Scope
This is a focused, opinionated platform.
- Mechanical watches (automatic & manual wind) mostly, virtually no quartz shortcuts here
- Price range: ~€300 to €15,000
- Selection philosophy: watches that offer strong value and that I would personally consider buying
If a watch is featured here, it has passed a simple test:
Would I spend my own money on it?

About me
I’m a 58 year young watch enthusiast living last 12 years in Geneva—arguably the epicentre of watchmaking—
What started as curiosity turned into a full-blown passion:
- Design
- Mechanical engineering
- Complications
- Brand history
- And, inevitably… collecting
Over time, I’ve built a decent collection, made good decisions, and—more importantly—a number of questionable ones.
That’s part of the journey.
This site is my way of sharing:
- What I’ve learned
- What I got wrong
- What I’d do differently
So that you can make better-informed decisions when spending your hard-earned money.
My passion for watches started at the age of 8:

A Note on Independence
I do not receive payment for reviews
I do not promote watches I wouldn’t buy myself
Opinions are 100% independent
If something is featured here, it’s because I genuinely rate it.
Reality Check: The Watch Addiction Problem
Let’s be honest for a moment.
Buying watches can become:
A habit < - > A passion. < - > A mild obsession < - > …and in some cases, a financial strategy that makes absolutely no sense
If you’ve ever:
- Bought a watch you didn’t “need”
- Justified it as an “investment”
- purchased a watch which you didn't tell your partner about and kept it a secret ... until the right time
- hidden the real price from your partner
... then you’re in the right place.
There is a reason terms like: "WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor)" and "Watch Acquisition Syndrome” & exist.
Managing WAF is a skill. Mastering it? That’s next-level horology.
Final Thought
This site won’t stop you from buying watches, but it might help you:
- Buy better ones
- Avoid costly mistakes
- And enjoy the journey a bit more
